Overview of B.Ed. Course under Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, Assam:

Mode of Course:

  • Regular
  • The NCTE recognized B.ED. & D. El. Ed. Programme.
  • B.Ed. Course under Bodoland University.

Course Structure:

The duration of the B.Ed. Programme shall be for two years spread over 4(Four) Semesters, as follows.

  • Semester –I & III (Odd/Semesters): 1st July to 31st December
  • Semester–II & IV (Even/Semesters): 1st January to 30th June.

Intake Capacity: 100

Eligibility criteria for applying for Pre-Entry Test(PET):

  • Graduate or equivalent degree from any stream form recognized university with at least 50% mark in aggregate.
  • In case of an applicant who failed to secure 50% in the UG course, then the candidate must have secured 55% in the PG course.
  • Relaxation of Marks: Candidates for the reserved Quota (SC/ST) shall be given relaxation upto 5% of marks. The relaxation will not apply to candidates seeking admission in any other reserved quota.
  • Teachers deputed by the Govt. of Assam for the course must submit a study leave certificate. No objection Certificate from their concerned employers along with the application.
  • Candidate must clear the B. Ed. Common Entrance Test conducted by the Bodoland University, Kokrajhar, Assam.

Reservation Quota:

a) The reservation of the seats to the different categories will be as per State Govt. norms.

b) Reservation of seats for the students belong into different categories will be as per the Government Rules mentioned below.

c) The reservation of seats for the admission of the Deputed Teachers in B. Ed. course will be as per Govt. norms. If any seats allotted to remain to be filled up by the deputed teachers, then such seats will be filled up general candidates from the merit list of selected candidates

d) Any seats under the reserved quota which remain to be filled up for want of candidates may be filled up from the open merit list.

e) Admission into the seats for both general and reserved categories will be made strictly on the merit basis.

f) 2% seats will be reserved for children (sons and daughters) of bonafide employees of the Institution. Candidates applying for this category of the seats must submit relevant certificate to this office. However, any seats remain to be filled up under this category will be filled up by candidates from the general merit list.

g) Service holders and business holders are not allowed to be admitted without proper NOC.

h) The Curriculum of the B.Ed. Course will be followed as per NCTE regulation.

Selection and Admission Procedure:

a) The eligibility criteria to get admission in B.Ed. course will be purely on the basis of entrance tests (BUCET) and as per NCTE norms.

b) The In-service candidates admitted for B.Ed. Course will have to submit No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution at the time of application.

c) If a forged document submitted by a candidate is detected even after admission, the admission will stand cancelled.

d) The Admission Committee has every right to refuse admission if the candidate fails to produce the original documents when asked for.

e) The decision of the Admission Committee regarding admission in final.
